We arrived in Hong Kong at 5am on Thursday, having left Toronto on Tuesday night. We got some sleep on the 15h flight, and knew we had a 12 hour layover, so headed right into town. None of us had been before, and had not realized what a beautiful city HK is! Of course there are the spectacular skyscrapers, but also lush gardens, and historical areas.
We started by wandering along the Avenue of Stars, the equivalent of Hollywood's Walk of Fame, and we had it nearly to ourselves, as it was so early!
We then took the Star Ferry over to Hong Kong Island, and wandered through the city towards the tram that took us up the Shan Teng peak behind the city and got a spectacular view!

We ended up in Soho, the busy, narrow, older part of downtown, and finished at a temple. It was only 2 in the afternoon, but we were exhausted! We really felt we got a great overview of the city, and had a wonderful day. We hung out in the park for a bit, then headed back to the airport to head on to Nepal at 7pm. We all took tons of pics, and I've posted a few of them here, if you want to see more.
